This is Comanche camp located on White River Canyon. The location is on the Bridwell ranch in an area known as Elephant Masa. This was an area that was known as large trading center for the Comanche, Kioa, Southern Cheyenne, and Mexican traders.

This is a scene of a cloud building into a thunderhead. This is looking East off the Caprock about 5 miles from of Southland Texas. The stream in the for ground is a contributory of the Double Mountain Fork of the Brazo River. At this time there was very little water. There are times it can be bone dry or flooding. all depends on the rain. The image occurred a little after sunrise in late May. 16”x 20”

This is another scene from the Bridwell Ranch East of Crobyton Texas. This area along White River was a gathering point for large numbers of Native Americans during the 19th century. This tribe that were come here included the Camanche, Kioa, Southern Cheyenne and Mexicans. It remained active until the the conclusion of the Red River wars when the before mentioned tribes were for red upon the reservations.
